Patients may forget what we said. They may forget what we did. But we hope they will always remember how we made them feel.
Tony graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Sheffield (UK) in 1986. For 25 years he worked in central England as a General Dental Practitioner with a Special Interest in Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry, owning dental practices in partnership with his wife Lisa. In 2001 Tony completed a 3 year Graduate Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies at Bristol University, concentrating on endodontics and advanced restorations.
Tony and his family fulfilled their dream and moved to Australia in 2011. He initially took on the role of Lead Dentist at a 9-surgery practice in Canberra before moving up to the Gunyah Dental Surgery in Terrigal. In 2017, seeing a need for more readily accessible and reasonably priced root canal services, Tony established Terrigal Endodontics as a division of his already successful private practice.
Despite his extensive experience and special interest in endodontics Tony has chosen not to become a specialist endodontist. He made the decision many years ago not to limit his career completely to the confines of a root canal, but for over 35 years has continued to dedicate the majority of his practice to endodontics and advanced restorations, investing heavily in post graduate education and technology to further develop his skills in these areas of dentistry.
Tony has shared his passion for endodontics and advanced restorative dentistry by being actively involved in lecturing and mentoring other dentists. He has worked as a peripatetic dentist providing endodontic services to dental practices in both the UK and Australia. Tony has always happily taken referrals from dental colleagues seeking root canal treatments for their patients and continues to welcome such requests at Terrigal Endodontics. Tony is a member of The Australian Dental Association and The Australian Society of Endodontology.
Tony’s interests outside of endodontics and dental practice include spending time with his wife, three adult children and black labradors Ted and Mabel. He enjoys wildlife and landscape photography, rugby union, sailing and wining and dining. The family are thrilled to be settled in such a beautiful area and look forward to enjoying a long, healthy and happy future on the Central Coast.
Amy has been working on reception at the Gunyah Dental Surgery since its inception in 2012 and her dedication to customer service and her administrative skills are greatly appreciated by both patients and the team. Amy has a degree from Newcastle University in Recreation and Tourism and during her studies she worked part time as a dental nurse. This experience has given Amy great insight and knowledge when dealing with patients' enquiries and concerns. Away from work Amy enjoys gardening, cooking and weekends away in her caravan.
Grace has been dental nursing for over 10 years and relocated to the Central Coast from Canberra in 2012. She has been with the practice since 2015 and her happy and friendly demeanour is infectious. Grace’s experience, skills and efficiency make her a pivotal member of our team and her calm and reassuring manner makes her a hit with patients too! In her spare time you will find Grace cooking, doing home renovations and spending time with her dog.
Georgia is Tony’s daughter and since moving to Australia in 2012, has been working alongside him on a part-time basis to help fund her university studies. Georgia has a BSC in Psychology from ANU and is now studying to become a Paramedic. Outside work, Georgia loves spending time with her partner and their Labrador Bella and all three of them can usually be found on or in the water around Copacabana, Avoca Beach and Terrigal.
