Terrigal Endodontics is a division of Gunyah Dental, an independent private dental practice offering exceptional dentistry and cosmetic treatments. Conveniently located in the centre of Terrigal, with our own car park, Terrigal Endodontics and Gunyah Dental provide refined dental solutions in a relaxed, friendly and peaceful environment.

Gunyah Dental is an immaculate, contemporary practice housed within a beautiful heritage cottage. Continually investing in the most up-to-date dental treatments, techniques and materials, our mission is to provide the highest level of care – whether a routine examination and preventive treatment, through to the most complex endodontics and restorative treatments.

Cost of Treatment

Endodontic treatment is a complex procedure and the cost will vary depending on the tooth, difficulty of the treatment and number of appointments required. In general, back teeth (molars and premolars) are more difficult to treat than front teeth due to their multi-rooted anatomy. During your consultation, all of the costs associated with your root treatment will be discussed with you.

Endodontic treatment is usually a cheaper alternative to the costs of an extraction and replacement with an artificial tooth (implant). Most dental health policies provide some coverage for endodontic treatment.

Tony Appleton dedicates a large percentage of his practice to endodontics but many years ago elected not to become a Specialist Endodontist, preferring to pursue his interest in root canal treatments whilst also enjoying other aspects of patient care. His fees for endodontic treatments are consequently lower than those charged by most registered specialists but this discrepancy in charges does not reflect any lack of experience, training or investment in advanced endodontic technology on Tony’s behalf.

Dental Emergencies

If we are there, or nearby, we will see you!

We will always try to offer you a same day appointment if you have an emergency so if you or someone you know has a problem please call us.
We offer a comprehensive emergency service for our registered and current patients with phone access to our dentists available until 9.30pm each day.

For genuine emergencies we will re-open the practice outside normal working hours and you will be advised of the call-out fee by the dentist on call. If you choose to proceed please note that all fees for the call-out and treatment provided must be paid for in full at the time. This enables us to provide this additional service to our patients and we appreciate your understanding.

Opening Hours

Terrigal Endodontics is open 5 days a week by appointment. We are very happy to accommodate patients who need more flexible access to dental care and regularly provide appointments between 7am and 7pm on weekdays.

Private Parking

Terrigal Endodontics is part of Gunyah Dental and has its own private car park for use by our patients during their visits to the practice.

The parking is available at the rear of the property and is accessed through our open gateway and then via the driveway to the left of The Gunyah.

Designated parking is also available for our less physically able patients and provides easy access to the practice by a gentle ramp.

Payment and Cancellation Policy

Most straightforward root canal treatments will be completed in one appointment. Occasionally, more visits may be required. Payment for treatment is requested on the day, after each appointment (Hicaps and EFTPOS facilities are available).

Should you need to change an appointment time, contact us and we will be pleased to arrange an alternative day or time. Failure to attend a scheduled appointment or cancellation without 24 hours notice may incur a fee.

We offer an interest free payment plan with ZipPay and can provide further information if required.

Specialist Referral

With over 35 years of root canal experience, Tony Appleton is committed to creating the best outcome for you however straightforward or complicated your need. It is very unusual for Tony Appleton to refer a patient for further treatment with a specialist endodontist but if the need for additional help should arise, Tony has links with local specialists and will not hesitate to arrange a referral for you.

Accreditation

Being a QIP Accredited practice means that our staff and valued patients benefit from a number of governing policies that are put in place to provide a working model for best practice.

One such policy, for example, allows us to utilise scrupulously observed infection control practices whenever you visit. All staff are conversant with the requirements of infection control set out by the relevant governing bodies both nationally and at state level and all staff receive regular training and updates in this critical area of patient care.

Along with this, the practice also prides itself on our Work Health and Safety standards and we consistently review risk management strategies so that patients, staff and other visitors may rest assured that their physical and mental well-being is uppermost during their visit.

Accreditation means that all staff members follow strict protocols when it comes to patient privacy and confidentiality and measures are in place to ensure that each patient receives information about the treatment they are to receive so that they can make informed decisions based upon that information. In other words, our patients have a voice and are pro-active in their treatment.

We are proud to be a QIP Accredited practice and to offer our patients the very best care we can.
